“Decoration Day” Commemorative Celebration

The High Creek Cemetery-Church planning committee invites all those who can attend to visit the cemetery and church on Sunday, May 28th, 2017. On this special day, the Church will be open to receive guests. There will be a reception between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm with refreshments and a gathering of as many of the community members, whose time will allow, for coming and visiting. Traditionally, on this weekend, Friday through Monday, the committee planners invite as many of the members of the Cemetery-Church Community as possible to visit, although there will be no scheduled reception other than Sunday. 

In some cases, it is understood that people may travel far distances to reach Atchison County.

Recognizing these circumstances, and understanding that it may be impossible to be there on a specific day, the planners have elected to prepare and maintain the grounds to accommodate visitors for the full four day period. We understand that Memorial Day is a very special time for all of our families and their relations. We will do everything possible to allow you to include High Creek in your plans on this holiday weekend. We hope you can come and appreciate everything that “HIGH CREEK” has meant to us over the years. See you there!
